Some Kem on this Rainy Sunny Monday

It has been both a sunny and rainy day in London, and after having some lunch with my fantastic friend T, I am back home relaxing. Oh did I mention that I received some good news today which seems to be reflected by the sunshine in my part of London.

Please enjoy some music from the smooth and talented Kem. I will be reviewing his third album ‘Intimacy III’ once my copy arrives. (Spotify article and Fantasia on the way too).

Breast Ironing in Cameroon: Another form of child abuse?

Greetings Tojettes and Tojeknights. I hope your weekend was as fun as mine. I have finally figured out a way to use my laptop (aka heater) without it overheating. This is the reason why I am able to add this new post.

A few weeks ago a friend sent me a video regarding breast ironing and while watching it I was moved by what I saw. I am sure some of you may have already read or watched the videos about the practice that has been taking place in Cameroon. Some people may be in denial but I am not. I have decided to cover this subject and join the march of those creating awareness of the practice and issues associated with Breast Ironing in Cameroon.

Breast Ironing is the pounding and massaging of a pubescent girl’s breast using heated objects in an attempt to make them stop developing and disappear. More

What’s on your music box this weekend?

This week has been one of many trials and a test of my patience. With the TV, PC and even the Laptop (heater and lap burner) all malfunctioning (and with the job rejections). However, I discovered a way to keep the Laptop working. Thank God for Mr. Electrical table fan. It seems to help it stay cool, calm and collected. Due to these IT issues I have been unable to post some new articles. I will try to upload some tonight.

Now it is the weekend and I am off to watch Diamond League Athletics at Crystal Palace. ‘What great fun for me’ you say. LOL. All weekend I have been playing this song which was introduced to me whilst I was at a temp job this week. I really like this song and will be writing more about the artist in the near future.

Fantasia Hospitalized After Overdose

(I have been trying to upload this post for the past 6 hours but my laptop has been giving the snail a run for its money).

Shocked? I know I am.

Fantasia is one of my favourite singers so this came as a surprise to me.

According to WCNC, Fantasia was hospitalized Monday (August 9th) due to a medication overdose. The report stated that she was rushed to the Pineville Medical Centre at 8:55pm although this was not confirmed by her Manager ‘Brian Dickens’ in his official statement. Initially Sources were not sure what medications were involved and whether the overdose was accidental or intentional. However, according to New York (AP), her manager released an official statement on Tuesday and stated that “Fantasia took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid and was dehydrated and exhausted at the time”. He also confirmed that she was in a stable condition and would be released from the hospital soon. (Thank God). More

What’s on your music box this weekend?

It has been a calm weekend for me in London as I have stayed indoors watching the Diamond League Athletics in (Stockholm) and writing up my next TW Post. Unfortunately my TV (Ants TV) has been playing up and only switching on when it feels like which has been disrupting my Season 5 run of Girlfriends. (Taking a deep BREATH). I have had to rely on my music collection to keep me occupied.

Inception: Complex Simplicity

Christopher Nolan’s Inception is his first movie since the Darknight and has got audiences in a frenzy of multi level discussions as to what really happens.

Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the best in the dangerous art of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse; their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. (Warner Bros.
